Bio
A native of Paducah, Kentucky, Kent graduated summa cum laude from Georgetown College where he obtained a bachelor’s degree in American Studies and received the Dean’s Honor Award. He earned his Juris Doctor from Vanderbilt University Law School. He is a member and past president of the McCracken County Bar Association and is also a member of the Kentucky and American Bar Associations.
Kent’s legal practice focuses primarily on representing municipal electric utilities and governmental entities, handling residential and commercial real estate transactions, and assisting clients in probate and estate planning matters.
He presently serves as a director of the Kentucky Bar Foundation and the Paducah Lions Club and is a trustee of the McCracken County Law Library. Kent is a past president and board member of the United Way of Paducah-McCracken County, Market House Theatre and Paducah-McCracken County Habitat for Humanity. Kent previously served on the board of directors of an area bank and the Leadership Paducah Foundation and as treasurer of the Troop 1 Committee, Lincoln Heritage Council, of the Boy Scouts of America. He has also been a church deacon, elder and trustee.
